AC on our '06 Scamp 16' quit. It seems finding and repairing a refrigerant leak and then recharging a sealed R22 unit is next to impossible. None of the RV shops around here knew of anyone who would/could do it. The Coleman MiniMach 7200 BTU is no longer available and Scamp now installs the Dometic BriskAir II 13,500 BTU unit. Scamp Parts has the new one available but shipping charges make it very expensive. I saved over $300 buying online.
I've sprung a propane leak somewhere near the regulator on my 1982 13' Scamp. I could use some tips on replacing the regulator, because I'm worried that the near 40-year-old metal line leading into the Scamp won't connect correctly with a new regulator (i.e., the thread won't seal completely, the metal will be too weak to support the new regulator, etc.) Any advice on how to test this sort of thing will be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!
there are no kitchen appliances or water tanks but i just want to add a sink with a pump faucet. is it as simple as getting a fresh water tank and connecting the outside fill spout and then running a line to the hand pump faucet? if there are additional connectors on the tank do i just block them off?
So, I made the foolish mistake of running both D/C and propane power sources at the same time. I have since shut off the D/C, and am running propane alone, but can anyone tell me what damage I may have caused by running both at once? Everything seems to be working fine, from what my novice eyes can see. Thanks!
I think I have a converter problem....suggestions of how to check it out. Battery is not charging when shore power plugged in. All 120volt items work fine. 12 volt lighting works....but ....the in-line volt meter shows very low voltage and indicates no charging. Checked all fuses, but I think these were all for 120 volt. Any suggestions of what to check before I consider installing a new converter??? My next attempt will be to hook up the car and see if I receive a charging from that hookup. I'm not hopeful.
I can find all sorts of places that tell me not to run two sources of power at the same time for the Dometic fridge (such as A/C & D/C), but nothing about exactly what cam happen if I run them together. Does anyone know what would happen if I were to run both propane and D/C at the same time?
