hello!
new owner here, we just got an 1988 13’
there are no kitchen appliances or water tanks but i just want to add a sink with a pump faucet. is it as simple as getting a fresh water tank and connecting the outside fill spout and then running a line to the hand pump faucet? if there are additional connectors on the tank do i just block them off?
thanks!!
My ‘77 Scamp also had no water tank, but it did have the little cup-like filler. I didn’t like that because it seemed to accumulate a bunch of dirt, which would ultimately wind up in the water tank. I removed that filler, fiberglassed over the hole, and installed a filler that connects to a hose. Then I installed a 12 gallon tank which I connected to the new filler. On one of the other connections on the tank, I added a vent line, which I ported to a valve beneath the trailer below the filler. To fill the tank, I connect the hose, open the valve, and slowly fill the tank until water comes out the vent valve. Then I turn off the water, disconnect the hose, and close the valve. A flexible line runs from one of the bottom fittings on the tank to my sink - I just use a hand pump (keeps the wife and daughter from using too much water!)
awesome, thanks!! just what i need to know
Hey Kcb,
I am in the process of restoring an 85 13' scamp. mine did come with a tank, but I upgraded from a 10 to a 12 gallon tank. I also added a 12v pump and faucet to eliminate the need to hand pump. Below is a picture. Hope this helps.
it does, thanks
I’m in the process of restoring a 1984 16’ scamp, floor plan #4 Side bath, front bunks ... your description and photo provide significant help, thank you... my interest is in black sealant in the photo! can you say what that is??? flex seal or something similar???
