I'm repacking hte bearings in my 1984 Scamp Trailer for the first time and am wondering if any automotive wheel bearing grease will work? I picked up a tube of MasterPro Chemicals High-Temp Wheel Bearing Grease from Oreilly's which is a lithium base grease, but starting to wonder if I should get one of the more expensive greases meant specifically for a trailer. Your thoughts?
Purchased a 16' Scamp that had been stored for many years. In process of verifyiing everything works. Refrigerator is both 120 volt and propane. Works great with electric but having trouble with propane. I purged the gas lines with the stove and know I have gas pressure. BUT...how long do you hold the gas valve in to insure gas to refrigerator burner?? Also any way to verify spark generator is working???
The drain valve on my fresh water tank leaks out onto the floor of the tank compartment every time I try to drain the tank. How can I change out the old drain valve for a new one. I am unable to drain the tank anytime especially if I have RV antifreeze in it. This is on our 2004 19 Ft Scamp. Mark
I duly winterized my Scamp last fall, including putting the RV antifreeze in my fresh water tank. Now that it is occasionally spring-like out here, I am heading out on a road trip. I need to flush out the water system. Two questions: what should I do with the RV anti-freeze (propylene glycol) that is flushed through the lines - dispose of it in the storm drains, or do I need to go to a dump station? And do I need to sterilize the water in the fresh water and hot water tank by bleaching? I've seen conflicting advice on the web.
Hello there. My wife and I have been Scamp owners for about five years and have upsized from sa 13 standard w/o bathroom to a 19 deluxe layout 2. In that transition we went from a trailer we bought new to one that has had a number of previous owners and has probably seen better days. We got a good deal on it and I am a handy type person with more than my fair share of patience (ask my wife.) I bought our new trailer knowing that it would need some floor work but, I don't have the experience to know just how much I need to replace. There is rot in the OSB a
I am new to this forum and Scamp ownership, but i can already tell that I'm going to love future adventures in my Scamp! I wanted a fixer-upper, and boy did i find one! My first mission is to get it to stop leaking, i'm working from the top down with fixing problems - it seems the most logical way.
Purchased in late Sept. a 16 ft 2001 Scamp. As the trailer sat for several years, there are many things to address. The one that is causing problems is the Ext TV antenna. The mast is still there with the interior crank and coax wiring...but can't determine what to use to replace the actual antenna. Anyone have suggestions?
