Refer Problem with Tundra T22

Forums:

HI People...We have a 87 13' Scamp with a Tundra T22 Refer that is supposed to run on 12V, but only works when we're hooked up to 120V source? I know its a retro fit, but I just can't figure out how to make it work off the battery?

We have a new solar cell for our series 27 battery, which is working great and fully charged all the time. We live south of Carson City NV with PLENTY of sunshine; so the normal problem of the battery dropping below 9V is not an issue.

Any ideas

Pro-Dec Hinge Snap-Caps

Forums:

I know the subject of Rivet Replacement gets so much attention!! I have found all the postings so incredibly helpful! We are about to undertake replacing the rivets in our 93 16ft Scamp. Many of the snap-caps are literally deteriorating. I am definitely wanting to order our new ones from Pro-Dec as so many have suggested. When looking I noticed they have a new version of snap caps that are hinged so that the washer and snap-cap are one.

Has anyone tried these? I would love to know if they would be better, worse or the same as the typical snap cap washer combo.

cleaning moss/mildew/? off trailer

Forums:

We live outside Portland, OR, and we need to know what we can use to clean the trailer without destroying it in the process. We have a 1 year old Scamp that spent the winter outside under a cover, but has been uncovered since our first trip this spring the last week of March. We have what looks like it might be dark greenish/black moss or mildew or mold growing on the trim strip around the middle of the trailer and on the top...basically anywhere there is a crack or crevice or ledge it can grow on. Are we going to hurt the finish if we use certain products?

Dometic 1.9 refrigerator

Forums:

My 3 way frig quit working on 12v (I accidentally left on two power sources at the same time 12 v and 120 v). Anyone had this problem? Is it repairable? The RV repair center tells me the frig would have to be taken out to access a part. They've never worked on one of these before and at $!30/hour labor that makes me nervous!! There is voltage to the frig from the battery and it gets warm (repair center report), but it won't cool. Gas and 120 work fine.

Table repair hack

Forums:

So you've broken those little plastic do-jobbers that keep the table supports in place as you swing it up, What do you do? Pay out a modest amount for some new ones, plus all the other table furniture you don't need?

NO!!

Go over to your local hardware store and buy some 3/4" shelf supports. They work just fine.

Leak coming between fiberglass pieces

Forums:

Hello All,

We filled our freshwater tank and ran our lines for the first time last night. We have a 1993 Scamp just purchased Used. When checking everything for leaks, we unfortunately found one. There was dripping between the fiberglass section of the counter/stove and the bathroom. Our furnace covers easy access to the plumbing that enters the bathroom so trying to access the lines to test where it is truly leaking is difficult and scary to us newcomers.

We are new. We are simple...

Have been getting scamp camp ready. One of our last tasks was to flush & fill the water heater tank. Hmm...didn’t fill automatically from fresh waster tank, so their must be a valve somewhere? Watched the scamp helpful videos, searched the manuals, checking the scamp outside and inside for some indication. Accidentally figured out that to fill the water heater tank, we had to open both hot & cold water kitchen faucets. It was filling!! Yeay—now to get flow from the water heater tank. Again, hmm... Rechecked everywhere for a discharge valve. Ugh.

What is this line?

Forums:

Hello All,

Looking for some help on determining exactly what this line is for. When we bought the Scamp we found that this line was broken where it exits through the floor and outside the vehicle. It exits just below the gray water tank. I imagine this has to be some kind of drainage/overflow hose but I have been unsuccessful in finding an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also for orientation purposes the green/white hose is next to the fresh water tank. Thanks!

Water heater access pannel rust

Forums:

I'm in the middle of renovating our 19'.  We have taken out all the dinette, water, electrical box and cabinetry.  I'm looking at my water heater and the exterior access has a hole rusted clean through about an inch across.  Is the "flange" that connects the heater to the trailer a replaceable part or is it time for a whole new unit?  It looks like I can replace the whole unit from the outside of the trailer.  Is there any reason why I should do it NOW while the cabinets are out?  Can I patch it and replace it later?  We have a 2000 19 deluxe.  Gas on
