After taking our Scamp13 out of winter storage, when plugged in and connected to the TV all electrical seemed fine. However, when disconnected from the car I lost 12V. I thought it must be the converter so I tested battery voltage with the converter unplugged: 12.75V, when plugged in it went to 13.5 indicating a working converter. All breakers are on and all fuses test good. It was working when I parked it.
grinding, priming and painting my 16ft Scamp’s frame end to end. Thinking about using truck bed paint with hardeners because I think that’ll hold up better than anything else against gravel and other flying objects. Anyone else done this? Looking for suggestions on products or any advice really. I’m also considering painting the plywood while I’m down there. Is there any reason that’s a bad idea?
I purchased my 2007 13 foot Scamp this past summer. I had noticed that on the passenger side, the you could not place a finger between the tire and front of the body. On the left side there is 2 1/4 " space between the tire and the body. I had new tires put onto the trailer but nothing was mentioned of concern. This weekend, I went to have the bearings repacked but the mechanic did not want to do these until I had the axle checked. I am new to owning a Scamp and I am not near any factory. What knowledge/ information do I need to know when replacing the axle.
I know it's been a while, but are finally breaking out of Winter's grip up her in the Northeast and am sorting our 1977 Scamp (we bought it in December) and I have some questions.
As it is a 1977 without a shower the on-board wiring is very basic...at least I'd like to assume it is "basic" based on some of the more elaborate Scamps and RV's out there.
The snow has finally melted enough in my yard to get the Scamp door open. I went out and took a quick look to see if anything was amiss. It sure looked like a rodent had been nibbling on the box of kleenex. In my quick look around I didn't see any other signs of mice, but will do a more careful check later.
Our 1995 Scamp 13' has been in storage a number of years and has acquired a strong odor inside, has anyone used a carpet cleaning machine on the rat fur? My worry is that it will penetrate to the insulation and release the glue. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I'm looking at an older Scamp 19' 5th wheel. If the axle ends up needing to be replaced, does anyone have any recommendations? Torque axle, trailing arm?
