Has anyone had an issue with their awning not retracting? We went to close it up and it just spins. Sounds like a gear slipping but after removing the gearbox, it seems like it’s something deeper inside. The awning manufacturer’s site is really unhelpful. Thanks in advance.
1982 16'. Axle is welded in. 1st picture is under no load (swing arm hanging free, and NOT touching the floor jack even though it looks like it!)
2nd picture is with scissors jack under hub, lifting trailer off the floor jack.
Unloaded, the top of the swing arm is parallel with the frame member. Loaded, the swing arm is slightly angled upwards in relation to the frame member.
With 155/80-13 tires installed, and the weight of the trailer on the tires, there is about 2-1/4" of vertical space between the top of the tire and the upper wheelhouse.
My wife Mary and I are about 12 days out from our cross-country trip in our old Scamp 13 and I still can't sort one nagging issuewith my right turn signal. When I go to turn right and hit the signal in the car all the hazards go on in the Scamp.
Just pulled in to the Porcupine Mountains and setting up camp. I need a little help troubleshooting of possible...I can get everything running that works off 120v (ac, fridge) but all the lights are still pulling off the battery and my battery isn’t that strong.
I’ve checked the fuses and everything is good. I also ran an extension cord to the fridge in case something was going on with the fridge. Still nothing.
I have a 2003 Scamp 19 Deluxe with a front bath that has a corner sink that hangs off the wall. The sink has a 1.5 inch trap (not any sort of standard P-trap) and the outflow has cracked. I've removed the trap and haven't been able to source a replacement. Any idea where to get a trap other than to go directly to Scamp? I was hoping for an online connection but I don't know what to call it as it's not a standard RV part.
What methods have you used/recommend for rivet caps that have come off for some reason (particularly on the roof). Also, should they be "maintenance sealed" occasionally?
I need “Round Top instant shelter” information. The seam at the top of mine separated and I can find NO glue or solvents that will fix it. Has anyone repaired a round top or know what the fabric is made of? The company has sent me a new cover, but I would like to save the original if I can find something that will work. Yes, we had record snow last winter, but I removed it after and sometimes during every snowfall, and the failure happened when it got hot out.
Ok, just took the Scamp out on our first trip. It was great. We got the 8inch foam mattress from Wally world which is great. My question is about the water heater. I ran it on gas,it heated up just fine, but i had black soot on the vent door and up the side of the scamp. Is this normal,or should i be checking something out? Thanks.
