The passenger tail light on my 1995 Scamp 13' was not working. I cleaned the contacts with steel wool, but that didn't work. I flipped the bulb around and pressed it to the contacts and that made it light up. I then flipped it back around to the correct position and that fixed it, until I turned off and on the tow vehicle, then it wouldn't come back on. Tried this several more times with the same result. Not sure why the bulb will light up when it is flipped around, but not when it is seated correctly.
Hi all, just back from the shakedown cruise in my 13 footer, a great weekend in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Glad to have that heater at night. Among this year's problems, the little bent metal hingepins at the bottom of the external water heater access door. Am I the only one who find it a real hassle to line up the door hinges to reattach it if you take the door fully off (or when it falls off)? When I arrived I found one of the hinge pins was missing, luckily the top key latch worked. I figure I'll fashion new pins with wire, maybe make it harder to fully re
My 2017 sixteen foot has had a tv antenna problem from the start, but today it quit completely.
After a lot of trouble shooting I found the coax to the signal strength “meter” had been pinched when installed and was shorted. It was actually down into the knob area making it hard to turn the antenna.
Now the real problem. Where is the quickest place to get a replacement coax?
I'm in the process of swapping-out a Fan-Tastic Vent fan for a MaxxFan Deluxe fan on my 2017 Scamp 16. The original owner replaced the original Maxx-Fan when it went south.
We purchased a used 19 foot scamp recently, its our first travel trailer. We are getting ready for our first trip and its still winterized. I can see rv antifreeze in the lines, the hot water heater drain plug was removed (all by previous owner).
I just got back from ~1,500 mile trip to SW Texas. Upon returning home, I noticed I had uneven tirewear on both sides (driver side wearing on inside, passenger side wearing on outside). I swapped the hub, brakes, and bearings/races before the trip and wheel play checked out. I also checked axle alignment and both sides measured within about a 1/16” of each other.
Let me start with a big THNX to all who have taken the time to help through my electrical woes!
I'll try to make this particular question short. It relates (again) to my ancient, but beautiful 1977 Scamp 13'
If I have a 30 amp shore connector going through my 15 amp dogbone adaptor (30A male to 15A 120V female) should my my main breaker be a 10, 15, or 30 amp breaker?
Last month I bought a 1977 Scamp 13. As a longtime DYI'er I've been fixing little things, making it "mine" and it's coming along nicely. I'm not sure how to proceed with one issue though. The gas furnace works fine when you turn it on (or off) but the fan comes on intermittently seemingly all by itself. It is parked outside, no shore power but the battery is connected. The thermostat is all the way in the off position and the furnace does not come on...but the fan does periodically.
