New Scamp: Awning issue

Please excuse if this has been asked before.

I've only been in my new 16' Scamp for 4 days.  Apparently I have a newer style awning, and it's been pretty easy to set up.  However, one day it was a bit breezy, so I took it down. The ground was gravel, so it didn't hold the ground stakes very well.  Unfortunately, it wouldn't close properly, seemed bowed in the middle.  Thinking the legs weren't seated properly (and were sticking out in the middle preventing closure), I tried again.  Sent pic to Scamp and they said "Wind damage."  This awning seems awful fragile! It wasn't that windy.  Now I regret the expense of the awning and wished I'd bought something made elsewhere, more sturdy.

Has anyone else had this problem with the newer style awning? I'm considering hiring someone to see if it can be fixed.  Still useable, just won't close properly. Any thoughts appreciated.

Fiamma Awning

If you have a Fiamma Awning check out their website. Their service video's are not in english so there is no audio. Fiamma makes a pretty good awning and they are easy to operate. Give them a call, they are the experts on their awning. FYI they (HQ) are located in Orlando Fl.
