We appreciate the great wisdom and advise we are finding on these forum threads as new owners. Thanks to everyone who regularly participates :) I looked around for an answer to this question, but most cleaning topics seemed to be more focused on deep cleaning or serious issues vs. just regular old maintenance.
Hi Y’all, Long Time:
The most serious (among many) problem with my 2014 13': I have discovered that somehow, somewhere my fresh water tank has started leaking. It will empty a full tank in a day. It is dripping somewhere inside resulting in (1) a small “flow” under the bolster into the dinette foot area; and (2) a line of rot in the underside of the plywood floor along the line of the tank (I can punch it with thumbnail). So bad that the screw holding front strap in place has pulled out.
I am sorta handy, but not this handy.
Well, I'm pretty disappointed with the door. When I bought a brand new Scamp, I really expected to have no major issues until at least five years in.
My trailer is currently less than 18 months old.
I'm finding that the bottom of the door doesn't fit tight and I keep having to chase mice out, and mice are a$$holes. They chew into stuff, poop all over the place, arg. The pic below is with the door completely shut. It's pretty dark inside when I took the pic, but you can see plenty of sunshine coming through the hole at the bottom.
I have a 2019 16' Scamp. It's been parked for a few months and I want to take the tires off to get them balanced and checked before I start traveling again in another month. I'll need to jack up the Scamp and put it on stands for a couple of days.
Does anyone have recommendations for 1) a jack, and 2) jack stands.
First time poster, long time lurker. Purchased a 2009 13-footer a little bit ago, absolutely love it. Unfortunately need to replace the dinette floor due to rot. I've read every thread about the topic ten times over, so have a pretty idea what to do. We're pretty handy (my wife, a wood worker, moreso than me) so feel we can do it, but we live in the city with a tiny garage and just street parking so it's impossible to do work for more than a day or two at a time.
Hi, i am wondering if anyone else has experienced the door on the refrigerator sliding down? i might have to put a small ring gasket on the bottom hinge so it stays put and locked. any input would be welcomed.
I needed to replace the screen in one of the rear side windows in my Scamp. To get the screen out (and back in again), you have to pinch the screen frame upwards to compress the clips that hold the screen in. I had a heck of a time getting the screen out, and was really struggling to get it back in -it is a super tight fit. Finally, I used a clamp to push and hold the screen up enough to get the bottom seated.
Received new gravel guard hardware from Scamp & have questions on how to remove/replace rivets holding rusty brackets. Do I need to locate where rivets are inside and remove from interior after drilling them loose? Install washers on inside rivets? Cut rat fur to get to rivets inside? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
We just bought a 2015 Scamp 13 with a 1.9 cf Dometic fridge. I have the most elementary question regarding a couple of replacement/spare parts. The trailer is in kind of a remote location, which is why I can't just check the things it has now. I was hoping to get a few things before I go back to where the Scamp is and wasn't sure exactly what to buy. The first is a replacement tail-light bulb. I am not sure exactly what bulbs to get. Will a Camco 54788 (aka 1141) work?
