I had been planning to heat water for a nice hot cup of coffee to warm the Scamp up on my recent fall trip, but had a rude awakening when the stove wouldn't stay lit. The fridge appeared to be working on propane, although the air temperature was barely above refrigerator temperature anyway so I was just relying on hearing the flame and feeling the heat. When I tried to light the stove it only stayed lit for 15 seconds or so. After that no more sound of propane flowing. I tried turning the fridge off to see if they just weren't sharing well, but it did the same thing.
I just recently got a used 2008 13 foot scamp with a front bathroom. When I first got it the water pump worked fine both on shore 120V power and the trailer battery, but I have used the pump just a few times and now it will not work off the trailer's battery or shore power. It will, however, work when I have it plugged into my car's battery. Does anybody have any suggestions about what I should try to do to diagnose this problem and possibly fix it?
Having problems with propane regulator and need a replacement. The vent on the original regulator from scamp is horizontal. After researching a replacement the vent should be vertical to allow water to drain. Does anybody know what scamp uses a horizontal vent?
One of the big punch list items on my new (to me) 19' Scamp is to fix the rotted flooring that can be seen from below the bathroom. While I'm in the process, I want to go ahead and remove the flush toilet and black water tank...it just seems like a composting toilet would be much easier for the type of off-grid camping that I want to do. I also think that the toilet or blackwater dump valve are the cause of the water damage, since I haven't found any other leaks (this can't be confirmed since I have never run water through it...I bought it winterized).
Hi all! I’m a new owner of a 1998 16ft Scamp. I’ve never owned a FG RV. My husband thinks that since most of the white caps are missing from the rivets that we need to replace ALL the rivets. I don’t agree. The trailer has just one leak at the base of the rear window...which I plan to remove, clean & seal. NONE of the rivets are leaking...and we’ve had some pretty hard rain recently. I’ve seen videos of people adhering new white caps with a dab of silicone. Please let me know any experience you’ve had with this issue. Thx so much!
New owner of a 2005 Scamp 16 with shower. I'm having an issue where no hot water is coming out of the shower. No issues with hot water at the kitchen faucet. Pump does not activate when hot water shower dial is opened but will when cold shower dial is opened. I don't see a bypass valve of any type. Thinking it could be shower faucet issue but am hoping someone has been down this road before. Are clogs in lines a thing?
Thanks for the advice with the floor replacement, this forum is the best! Replaced most of the dinette floor without any major hiccups, except after it was all done noticed shell was still on the frame <sad trombone noise>. Jacked it up under the belly band and everything, not sure what happened (spread the peanut butter resin on too thick?). Regardless, I figure my two options are: a) jack it up again and stick some shims between the floor and frame until it's off the shell, b) roll my dice with the shell on the frame.
My Centurion CS2000 (8AMPS/20AMPS) seems to have gone out. It will no longer charge the deep cycle battery when plugged in to shore power. I am looking to replace it and believe I have narrowed it down to two converters; WFCO WF-8735 Series Power Center and Progressive Dynamics PD4135KV Inteli-Power Converter with Built-in Charge Wizard. I am a complete novice so I am hoping to verify that these two units will work with my 2002 13' Scamp. Also would like any feedback on either or both units. I plan on taking the old one out and installing this one mys
