I guessed wrong when trying to purchase a replacement fan blade for my bathroom vent fan. I purchased a 6" diameter blade. Too big. I think it might need to be about 3.75". I emailed Scamp but they said they only sell the whole unit. I'll keep searching and trying to figure it out but if anyone has a definitive answer on size and where to purchase, I'd appreciate an additional.
Has anyone come up with a relatively simple way to keep the converter plug from falling out of the electrical panel socket? This is a very annoying problem that happens regularly. The way my Scamp 16 Layout 4 is built, it requires me to remove the electrical panel each time to plug it back in. I know the 5 screws that must be removed each time will soon stop holding. Seems like this is a common problem and there should be a reasonable solution.
We have an original owner trailer with factory wiring. We took the battery out last fall, and now we are having one of those senior moments where we are doubting ourselves. The trailer has a yellow wire with a fuse inline, and a white wire. Which do you think is positive and which is negative/ground? We think the yellow must be positive, since it has the fuse in it. We are putting the battery back in tonight, and it just sparked at us.
The hinges on my 2015 Scamp 16 were getting worn (probably I should have lubed them more) so I replaced them with the new hinges Scamp has in their parts dept these days. That resulted in the door moving forward about 1/4" and it would no longer latch. I then reused the part of the hinge that attaches to the door from the old hinges with the other parts from the new hinges and then the door latches again. I sent a message to Scamp about that also.
I just purchased a 2014 Scamp 13 basic layout trailer. To protect it from Chicago winters and storing outside, I wanted to purchase Classic Accessories PolyPro 3 Molded Fiberglass Camping Trailer Cover. Could someone let me know what size I need: 1. 8'-10' long; 2. 10'-13'long; or 3. 13' to 16' long Thanks, John
I just purchased a 2014 Scamp 13. What is a fair price to have the 2 sets of wheel bearings greased. I am going be taking a 7,000 mile tour of National Parks, and want to start out on the right foot. Thanks, John
The two exterior lights (porch and front hitch) on my 2018 13' Scamp no longer work because moisture collected inside the lens and corroded the switches. I can jump the switch and the lights work fine, so I know it's just the switch. Does anyone know where I can get some replacement switches? I've attached a photo to illustrate the style of light I'm dealing with. I've googled around but all the lights I see are a slightly different design...
Some of the window gaskets of my Scamp have shrunk over time. I was chatting with another Scamp owner in a campground and he commented that a gasket could be removed and stretched to original size after applying Armor All.
2 questions:
1. Has anyone tried this; and if so, with what results?
2. I did not get the name of the actual Armor All product he referred to. Any suggestions there?
We have a 2019 13 with trailer brakes. Only around 3-4,000 miles so far. I have needed to adjust the brake adjusters twice already and one side stays pretty good but the other changes 4-6 clicks each time. I marked the star wheel and it is not backing off . The wiring to the axles is not so good and I will improve it this spring to be more secure and reliable ( The ground came loose on one side ) Is there a video or documentation specific to these new brakes since Scamp does not use Dexter.
We have a "new to us" 2005 Scamp 16'. When the water pump is on, causing pressure in the water system, water leaks out of the air pipe that goes to the outside. Water also leaks out under the wall between the bathroom and the kitchen. It doesn't leak into the bathroom! We can't see where it is leaking from, so we have to assume it is somewhere in the toilet. I don't know steps to see inside the toilet housing that the toilet sits on. Can someone help? Is there a you tube by some miracle?
