I have the front bath layout so the microwave from Scamp came installed above the refrigerator. The microwave bounced around enough to break off the front two plastic feet that sat in the wood trim work. The wood trim has snap caps which I am guessing hide the screws for that trim. My assumption is once I get the wood trim off I can lift the microwave out of the cabinet. Has anyone found a good solution to secure the microwave? Clearly whatever came from the factory isn't doing the trick and will need to be improved.
I have a 2015 13'. It appears that water is leaking out of the cold water tank. I filled the tank and it leaked. Yes, I winterized it by following the instructions in the manual. The first winter I had no problems, but this year something is obviously not right. I filled up the tank with my hose at home and also when I hook up to city water I get the same result, leaking water at the back of my trailer underneath the main tank.
In repairing a leak around fan and vent in my 19' Scamp, I had to pull away both rat fur and bubble wrap insulation away from the inside fiberglass shell. The insulation acted like a sponge and held moisture until it was saturated then leaked through the rat fur. Now all is dried out and I want to re-adhere it to the shell. Called Scamp and they gave me the name of the spray adhesive they use. But I've found it's available only to commercial distributors. Not retail. Has anyone reapplied the insulation and fur back onto the shell?
I am currently at a stand still attempting to search/repair for a leak that previously rotted out the entire rear dining floor. I have traced the leak upwards along the center of the rear wall to the bottom of the block of wood that is fiberglassed in for supporting the dinning table. I now believe the leak is starting at the joint covered by the belly band and saturating the wood blocking then works down the remaining portion of the rear wall.
My husband has a 16 ft Scamp (year 2000). He's got the one with the kitchen on one side, 2-seat dinette opposite the kitchen & the bathroom in the front. He tells me that the refrigerator never worked; he didn't realize it until he'd driven it from MN to CA. Has anyone replaced the refrigerator? Is it a big deal or pretty easy/straightforward? THANKS!
Hi Scampers. We are on way to camping & when stopped at rest area saw fan cover up & making high pitched whine. Was closed when we pulled out. Cover continues to reopen whether close manually or with remote, whether fan itself is on or off. This is 2017 16' picked up in June. Naturally Scamp is closed right now. Shut breaker & didn't stop noise. Advice please, this is awful.
Howdy all! I have a Scamp 13 on order that should be ready next Spring. I can't wait! I didn't order an air conditioner and I'm now questioning that decision since I do plan to go wandering in the desert to some extent. My plan is to use the fan on exhaust with windows open if it gets too toasty. I'll have the bathroom in the front, so the area to be cooled is only about 6' x 8'. I'd love to hear from others who are AC free about your experiences. (I can change my order to add the AC if I wish.) Thanks!
We picked up our 16 at the factory this past May so we are still new to everything and learning. We returned home from our most recent trip, and as now routine I plugged in the shoreline (into our garage outlet) and unloaded the trailer. The frig was empty and we had turned it OFF before we came home. The next day I went back to gather a few more items and found the frig full of condensation and the freezer compartment with frost building up inside. Yes, the stupid thing had been running on 110v all night with the door open.
