I have been surprised at how useful the Battery Booster Box I bought has been !!!
I purchased a Battery Boost / Air Compressor combination and have used the heck out of it around the trailer.
First, let me say that the compressor is capable of 120 PSI, enough PSI for the high pressure trailer and truck tires.
I have used this to power the tongue jack and the trailer's electrical system (battery was dead). I have also used this to test the entire 12v electrical system inside the trailer.
Did the unthinkable this week and left awning up and not tilted for water drainage. No rain in the forecast, which I know is a lame excuse. So when I woke to some thunder and a light rain, I lay there thinking about getting up to retrieve the awning too long. Even a light rain is too much. I did major damage to the awning, bent the front, broke joints, and popped off a leg and bent extra removable truss. Does this disaster get fixed with parts or do I just have to replace the whole thing?
I recently purchased a 16' Scamp side dinette with front bath. Not sure of the year but the PO said he thinks it is a '75. Checking serial numbers on the appliances I'm thinking probably early 70's. The only numbers stamped on the toungue is "1153" stamped near body on the side opposite the door, which according to Scamp they were sometimes marked there.
The door latch assembly was missing so a new one is being ordered.
My DC works when hooked up to 120 volts. My DC dosen't work when on battery. Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Its 16' '94. It was a search to find the inverter.
The shower drain pump on my brand new 13' seems VERY slow, like 15+ minutes to evacuate the water from a 5 minute shower. Thinking something might be stuck, I bought a small toilet plunger, but that doesn't seem to help. Wassup??
I have now gotten to the wheels and bearings while preparing our Scamp 19 for the road and noticed that there is a little bit of play in the wheel hub. By that I mean that in the clock positions of 12-6 and 9-3 I detect just a bit of movement when wiggling the tire. Should there be ANY movement at all, I think not but would like to hear from those that are more experienced in this area.
Help, I have a 1985 Scamp that I had rehabbed at scamp in MN. this winter. I asked if the systems all worked toliet shower etc. just before finally using to go and do an art show in Quincy IL I found out that the ' new pump" leaked which scamp sent a new one asap. The big problem is the bath room toilet it leaks water into the bowl as we where driving, filling up the black tank; and splashing into the shower pan the onto the carpeted floor, which got soaked. I did not leave the fresh water pump on while driving but i really dont remember.
One of the notorious leak points in Scamps especially older model used Scamps is the rivets. This is usually due to deterioration or missing snap caps. Snap caps are the round white plastic caps that are all over your Scamp. (Hopefully) If they aren't all over you need to pay special attention to this post. It is a good idea on an older model used Scamp to completely redo the snap caps/rivets. On my first Scamp a 1981 13 I drilled out all the rivets and replaced with SS bolts, nuts and new snap caps.
