The shower drain pump on my brand new 13' seems VERY slow, like 15+ minutes to evacuate the water from a 5 minute shower. Thinking something might be stuck, I bought a small toilet plunger, but that doesn't seem to help. Wassup??

Slow shower drain
Since your trailer is "brand new," I suggest calling the Scamp factory. It should drain in 15 seconds, not 15 minutes!!
I'm just very impressed that you've managed to take a shower in there! I'm thinking of writing an Egg Shower manual with illustrations of all the positions one must assume to complete a bath experience.
I'm with Mccownw's answer above.

I'll call the factory when I get back from this trip. (As of today, I've been on the road a month. My own bed beckons me from afar!).

New old guy checking in with same issue with my scamp.
According to the manual one should check the filter located between the shower trap and the pump. The clear part of the filter turns off counter clockwise.
Hope this helps.
Now to get my gear in rear and clean my filter..and get ready for the next trip.

And, Iv'e not figured this site out. It's not letting me appear to be sane and coherent. I am sure it is not I!!!
And, its Badges, badges, I don't have to show you no stinking badger!!
Badge, I don't have to show you any stinking badges!
I tried removing the filter on our new (to us) 2011 Fifth wheel today. The trailer manual says to turn it counterclockwise. I applied what I thought was reasonable force, but no luck. Any tips?
Related question: the manual says I should only use the bathroom pump to drain the shower, but we have to use it to drain the bathroom sink otherwise the water just sits there. (Also have to screw in the shower drain tight, or sink water comes bubbling into the shower pan.) Any other fifth wheelers out there who are able to drain with no problems?
Tried again and was able to unscrew the filter with just hand pressure (well, two hands). Cleaned out with no problem and replaced. Still have to use the pump to drain the sink and don't see any way around this.
OK. I'm home (sorta). I talked to the Scamp people. I even RTFM ("read the Fine manual"). Here is what we are talking about (in its natural habitat):
With jpalm's comment above in mind, I applied sufficient force, which, with the help of a pair of channel-lock pliers, allowed me to remove the approproiate transparent cover, revealing a clogged filter. It was easily cleaned with water. Here is a picture of the cover and filter: (I did not take a picture of the clogged filter as I realized you migt be eating while reading htis).
I returned the filter and cover, but did not use channel-lock assist to re-tighten. The shower now drains nicely.
Problem solved.

Thank you Dr. Tom. We're leaving on a trip in 2 days, so I'm reluctant to apply channel locks to my filter which looks gunky from the outslde, but I will when I return. Your pristine filter is an inspiration!
