In order to keep the mud/dirt, moisture etc out of the power cord storage area I always slide the cord thru a rag as I push the cord into the cord port in the side of the Scamp.
I have installed a piece of plywood to partition off the cord and electrical stuff under the bench on the left side of the Lil Critter in order to use the rest of the compartment for storage.
My tires say 50psi, but I'm wondering for a 13' Scamp if I should go that high. What do you all recommend for tire pressure? My Scamp is very light--not much on it!
We have a 2000 16'. Bought it in the fall, but it had already been winterized, so we didn't use any of the water-related things. Today, on our first big trip, I filled the tank, got the air out of the lines, and flipped the switch for the pump. I figured it would take a bit to pressurize and then shut down. Well, it didn't. I shut it off for fear of burning it out. Help. Should it be running like that? Do you run the pump only when there is water running?
I just ordered the new weather stripping to replace the foam stripping that is currently around the door of my 13 foot Scamp. Has anyone installed this new rubber weather stripping and what did you use to remove the old glue that somewhat held the old foam tape on?
Weather is starting to warm up and me and the dog are ready to go trout fishing!!!
Because our son is overly sensitive to chemicals I am looking at the ads for older trailers. In another forum, someone that owned a fiberglass molded suggested something at least 3 years old would be a better choice if we were concerned about the chemicals. So, I am thinking older but solid is good. Having owned RVs over the years, I'm familiar with nearly everything but my concern would be the frame. At what point would I be looking at frame/underneath stuff needing repair or replacement.
Since the new Inverter is different and the Fuse/Breaker Box is larger, is there any best practices for this replacement or diagrams of a typical replacement.
Thanks to all for your great responses to my posts. They are very helpful.
I'm on a two week shakedown trip with a new to me 2003 16' Scamp. I've got some screws that come loose and I screw them in tightly, then a day or two later I find them loose again or lying on the floor. The two screws on the heater have done this numerous times. They might be okay now as yesterday I really got them as tight as my muscles would allow. One screw under the heater, going in to fiberglass is coming loose on a daily basis. Is there some sort of adhesive that I need to get to put on problematic screws?
Every time we use the camper under 110 power in order to get anything to work on 12 volt I have to hook a battery charger up, not that the battery needs charged. Do you have to do this to get the inverter box to switch over to 12 volt, is that why? Does anyone know?
some of my plastic clips that hold the screens on the back and side windows are broken which keeps the screens from being held securely in place to the window frame .... Does anyone happen to know where I can purchase some or perhaps does anyone have any extras that i could buy from them used ones will work too ....
