What the best thing to do for smelly water? And what's the mix of bleach to water for the 16 foot scamp water to sanitize? Do you run it through the faucets after sanitizing or just drain the tank?
I'm thinking of using bartenders friend to clean oxidation off. Then NU FINISH polish outside. Has anyone tried this? Any unforeseen problems? I tested a small spot in the back of the scamp it realty shinned it up, I could see my reflection and it was as smooth as a babies butt.
These youtube videos are for a Boler, but it is identical to the procedure for installing new window gaskets and lockstrip for the Scamp. This is not a job for the faint of heart.
Glass shops will still install new lockstrip for you and can even cut new plexi or lexan windows. May have to call a few to find one that will do it.
I've got a '77 13'. The front and rear windows have the middle third or so that tilts out. When I got it, the front had some weather seal on the opening portion. The rear only had some faded remains of glue. Both windows leak like crazy.
Does anyone have a picture of what the seals on these windows should look like?
Is it possible to put screens on these windows? Without screens I'm wondering if I shouldn't just replace them with solid windows. Everywhere I go has too many flying bugs to leave open windows.
Here is my problem. I bought a 2002 16ft Deluxe front dinette trailer. 2 of the 12 volt interior lights don’t work. These 2 lights are in the front one in the bath and the other over the front table there is no 12 volt+ to these lights, the –12 volt is ok. These lights use a 2 wire cable, the color is white the other color is green with white strip. This wire is used on ever 12 volt light in the trailer. I can not find where in the trailer these wires terminate. The converter has wires that supply 12 volts to these lights but not the green/white.
Hello, we have just bought our used 5th wheel Scamp and I'm trying to update the seals on the door. Does anyone know if brake cleaner will damage the gel coat or hurt the fiberglass? I was able to get the new type of weather striping from the factory(rubber) and I'm in the process of removing all the foam from around the door. I would like to get the area as clean as possable before I install the new seal. Any suggestions?
I am in the process of cleaning corrosion and re-painting under the battery box after removal. We got back from a 3 week trip to Wisconsin about a month ago and at the last camp/ last day saw the white corrosion. There also was a small ammount of fluid under the battery when pulled out of the box yesterday. We had spent most of the time hooked up to 20 or 30 amp shore power but while towing had the frig set to 12volt. I checked the battery and it was about 55% charge yesterday but it took a charge and seems to be holding.
I am new to the Scamp world and have just gotten a "barn fresh" Scamp that is in need of a good cleaning for sure! It has the mole skin (I think its called) fairly well intact but the tape is solid brown and the walls are solid mildew.
The inside looks like it has been pretty wet but the shell seems to be intact.
Can I Clorox the mess out of it and then paint it with Kills? Or whats my best option?
I think it is a 77 (ish) model Windows all seem to work as well. Its been sitting a while but looks like I could clean it up.
