my 92 13 foot scamp has a white wire with a 3/8 dia ring lug, the positive terminal is 3/8 dia, and a black/ white wire with a small dia ring lug. All the info I have found say that a solid black wire is positive. The wiring appears to be factory stock. What is the correct color for the positive hookup to the battery?
One of my wheels on my 1984 13 foot trailer is pretty shaking when shaking it with your hands. I'm not familiar with Scamp axles & wheel bearings at all, but I'm guessing the wheel bearing is the reason for the shaky wheel. Does anyone know where you can buy replacement wheel bearings for Scamps? Or would a simple repack job fix the issue? Any help is much appreicateed.
Hi Scamp family! I have been dreaming of owning my own Scamp and I finally found The One of my dreams! I just bought a 1981 Scamp retro vintage trailer that has been upgraded on the interior. Problem is - the Scamp sits about 9" from the pavement so keeps hitting many incline pavements. When I park next to a sidewalk, I can not open the door of the Scamp because it is so low! I found out that my 4 lug axle has dropped over the years so needs to be replaced. The parts take a few weeks and over $1400 to repair.
After a camping trip the floor is always damp under the refrigerator. It's significant like a leak or spill. I think it's condensation. When I googled this problem I saw mention of a drain tube that is somehow attached to the fridge and directed thru the vents. Can anybody enlighten or tell me if they have had this problem and fixed it?
The white plastic hot water heater plug is really hard to get a socket onto. It is tucked right behind the copper tubing and also seems screwed in too tight. Any tips?
I recently purchased a 2005 19ft. Rivets all structurally sound, but snap caps have been displaced to varying degrees. As opposed to drilling/replacing perfectly good rivets with new snappers I'm thinking of looking for a plastic "tack" that I could put in the rivet holes secured by silicon caulk. Any comments/advice/(and most especially) criticisms?
I'm new to SOI, but have had a 1977 13 ft. for a couple of years. The little research I've done on availability of a replacement ice tray for my factory ice box has resulted in zip. Anyone out there know of any sources for the slide-in shallow tray that holds a block of ice and has a small drain tube built in? I'm about ready to TIG weld up an aluminum one, but thought I'd ask.
I pulled my 13 ft up to get it ready for the season. Everything works fine; the fridge, hot water heater, all power items. However, the heater will not come on. When i move the thermastat to the right, nothing. No fan no pilot ignite. I ran the stove for about 5 munites to burn out any air. Any suggestions?
