I just had my first couple of nights sleeping in the 16' with the furnace on. When it starts up, it runs with a fairly loud, but smooth "whoooosh" sound. But then it develops a sharp, tinny rattle, almost a screech. This is clearly in the fan.
Has anyone worked on a similar problem? How hard is it to get the fan?
We bought our 13' Scamp new in 2011. Last summer I noticed some greasy residue running down from the roof. When we took it out for a trip this summer in 100 degree heat, we discovered the AC unit didn't work. When I removed the cover I found the compressor had come loose from its mounts and broken free of the coolant lines as well. I called Coleman and was asked about how it was mounted. It appeared the unit was over tightened according to Coleman's installation specifications. So, Coleman said it was Scamp's responsibility.
I'm replacing the battery on our 2000 19'. We bought a new box and installed it. The box says it is good for size 27, 30 and 31. I figure I should go ahead and get the biggest battery I can fit in there, assuming it isn't too expensive. All of our camping this first year will be with hookups, but we want a battery just in case. If we do more camping without hookups we may look at trying to fit dual 6V batteries down the road. What I'm looking for is something to get us off the ground nicely.
My pilot light starts briefly, lights off the heater and within a minute or so everything shuts down. I know my way around tools but I am unfamiliar with RV propane systems so I don't know where to start. Left to my own devices, I'd probably try to find an adjustment for the pilot light. Any pointers in where to look?
My nused 2002 19' Scamp has 'to me' a strange issue.
turning on the water pump causes water to gush out of the city water connection.
I filled the fresh water tank using gravity fill spout, turned on the on-demand pump and had very little if any pressure at the sink.
i walked out behind the trailer and water was gushing out of the city water connection. I picked up a hose valve at Lowes and screwed it into the city connection, closed the valve and then I could get pressure in the sink.
we are noticing that our door is slowly becoming out of adjustment, there is about a 1/4 inch gap on both sides of the bottom half of the door. the bottom hinge caps are a little loose but we are not able to tighten them. The door doesn't look centred on the opening anymore. Any suggestions are helpful we are on the road and about as far away from Bacus as we can get!!!! Thanks in advance
I'm just wondering, I never read in these forums of anyone experiencing electrical damage from camp ground hook-ups. Yet I see surge protectors advertised saying the electrical system in your camper is at risk. I believe it is, but I don't see the complaints. Anyone experience any problems? I've hooked up once to a dead box and had to relocate within the grounds after setting up, so now the first thing I do is plug in and check before unhooking the tow vehicle.
