Atwood Heater

I pulled my 13 ft up to get it ready for the season.  Everything works fine; the fridge, hot water heater, all power items.  However, the heater will not come on.  When i move the thermastat to the right, nothing.  No fan no pilot ignite.  I ran the stove for about 5 munites to burn out any air. Any suggestions?

Atwood furnace

You might try jumping the two thermastat wires together to see if the unit fan runs and the the ignitor lights. If so you it could be your thermostat. If not I have hade problems with the connections on the furnace board in the furnace itself, try pulling them off and on. If no luck then, and there is power to the furnace it could be the board itself.
All the best.

Spot on

That was it.  Bad thermostat.  Touched the two wires and the fan came on.  Unfortunately, all the local parts suppliers are out of thermostats.  So now I have to wait for the mail to bring me one.  Thanks for the help

Scamp updated the thermostat

I earlier stated the heater was an Atwood but is a Suburban.  Also, after talking to Scamp, they have updated the analog thermostat they use with a newer stronger one after finding many people kick or bump the units resulting in broken thermostats.  I think Mica from Service said they switched to a digital.

Digital Thermostat

I just upgraded my Thermostat to Digital. It took about 15 minutes to install and the comfort level is greatly improved !!!!

Note: comfort is improved because Digital Tstat keeps the temp closer to "set point" than the old Analog Thermostat.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

new thermostat also

We ordered a new digital thermostat from Amazon for our Casita as I always had a hard time getting the old one set.I like the fact that you leave the temperture the same and can still still turn it off,Launey put ours on and its working fine,Those should just become standard on all new Casitas and Scamps
