I'm replacing the battery on our 2000 19'. We bought a new box and installed it. The box says it is good for size 27, 30 and 31. I figure I should go ahead and get the biggest battery I can fit in there, assuming it isn't too expensive. All of our camping this first year will be with hookups, but we want a battery just in case. If we do more camping without hookups we may look at trying to fit dual 6V batteries down the road. What I'm looking for is something to get us off the ground nicely.
This battery at Batteries Plus seems good enough.
I don't have a Costco or Sam's card, but may be willing to get either if I really can get a much better battery at those places. The Walmart by me just has marine and auto batteries.
Am I making a huge mistake?
A true deep cycle and 105 AH, it looks pretty good. Sam's sells Duracell like you posted. Costco sells Interstate batteries but theirs is a marine deep cycle / starting battery not as heavy duty as a true deep cycle. size 27 ($80).
In the spring, stores like Menards sells battery's for the fishing season. We got our group 27 battery there for $84.95!

Doug: I really need to get something in the next few weeks, but I'll keep that in mind for the next time I need one.
This is the same battery I just replaced with a pair of 6 volt batteries from Batteries Plus.
Be aware that this battery is not maintenance free, they have a sticker that covers the cell covers so you have to remove it to add water.
Unfortunately for me, I did not realize that the sticker was there until after the water level had dropped below the top of the lead plates. Even so, I was able to use this battery for an extra two years before I had to replace it.
I think this is a very good choice for a 12 volt deep cycle battery and it should last several years if you service it regularly and your Converter has the ability to perform a "desulfurization" charge on a regular basis.
