I recently bought a 2013 13'. It's in fairly good condition overall, but it looks like the exterior though not damaged it's just not as white as it should or could be. I used a power polisher with Maguiar's M6732 Marine/RV One Step Compound, it helped a lot but it isn't as while as I hoped it would be. It did remove the gritty oxidation from the surface however. Any suggestions? Or did I just didn't do a good job with what I used?
I have a 2013 13', the rear side window on the drivers side has a leak I can't seem to stop. I used 100% silicone around the outside top of the window, just down the corners part way though. All the rest of the original caulk looks fine. I just bought this a few months ago. I wasn't leaking the first couple months after I got it, but this has me baffled. Is there anywhere else on or around the window I should re-caulk? Should I remove all the old caulking first?
My roof fan has been shutting down randomly with flashing green light and beeping. (I remove the fuse to get it to stop with the green light.). A while back when this happened there were some bugs stuck in there that stopped it from spinning freely. Cleaned those out, then it worked fine for a long time. I can't find any obstruction now. It will run well for a while, then just randomly shut down. It's happening with increasing frequency.
Anyone else have this problem? What did you do? Any advice appreciated.
Ok, we are kinda gutting it out and making lots of fixes. So I snapped some pictures and have questions on how to fix these areas.
#1 There are 2 holes above the stove, does anyone know what was there originally? How can I fill those in?
#2 There is a scuff mark that has scraped past the first layer, how would I fix this? Is this a fiberglass repair? If so, then do I paint the whole cabinet after repairing?
Hi. If we buy the 1980 Scamp, the elephant skin wall/ceiling coverings are going to need to be cleaned. Does anyone have any recommendation for cleaning techniques?
Hi. We are lookng at buying at 1980 Scamp. The frame has cracked a couple times and has been repaired, but our welder says the frame is very compromised and needs to be replaced. I really need to know how to remove the shell/flooring from the frame. One person said to remove all the screws and it should pop off. Do I have to gut the trailer to get to all of the screws?
I posted this on FB but no usable suggestions. Hoping someone here has fixed a similar problem. I have a 2011 x 13 Scamp. Problem is with my dometic 2193 3-way fridge. Its hot here in Oklahoma, 95-100 days. On AC the fridge maintains about 38-40 degrees cold. When switch to propane, the temp raises to about 50-55 degrees even on the coldest setting. I have cleaned the jet, the tube, and baffle. Propane pressure is 11 inches to the fridge. I already have a fan kit in the back of the unit. It just seems the flame is not hot enough. What am I missing?
We kept it with the cloth cover in our driveway. But one time, while removing the cover, the cover caught on the license plate and broke off the little black plastic tabs under the tail light that hold the license plate. We've had our license plate in our back window ever since.
Has anyone else had this problem? It broke off so easily!
I've hunted around in these forums but can't find anything current. What have people done to remove the black streaks that run down the side or your Scamp, esp. under the windows. I've seen a variety of products recommended when I do online searches. Would like to know what Scampers use. Any suggestions?
