I was towing my scamp with a u-haul and I handn't realized I forgot the cotter pin to lock the hitch. Luckily, it was at night and no one was behind me, but the truck bucked from a bump on the road and the trailer popped off, but it dragged on the ground damaging the trailer jack like this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ohAf4HewyUNPrxLG6.
Does anyone have an issue with the bathroom door screws stripping out? Can it be fixed? I am thinking of removing and putting up a cute shower curtain.
We have a 2017 Scamp 13. Mice have begun to chew through the exterior plastic refrigerator vents to gain entry. Are there metal replacements for those vents or guards similar to furnace vent guards?
I'm sure this topic is addressed somewhere, but I'm not finding it.
What is the best way to clean a Scamp's black water tank? I'm noticed recently a few tiny drain flies (I think) so I need to do some cleaning. I'm reluctant to use bleach. Any good suggestions?
I am camping with my 13' with power. As always, I turned the frig on to AC. Within a few hours I was able to transfer food from a cooler I used for the drive. Everything was as normal for a day. Then the next afternoon, I discovered that things weren't that cold. They had been in the morning. I checked breakers etc after which I pulled the outside panel. The AC switch still seemed to be in the on position but when I tried to cycle it off and on, it wouldn't actually switch. You could tell it was bad.
I was getting no flow of cold water to the bathroom of my Scamp. Undid the connection on the cold side of sink faucet and applied air pressure as if I were winterizing. Out camera mixture of sludge and fine sand. I now have cold water forte sink and shower. If I could now figure out. How to access the water supply line on the toilet I could have my entire issue solved.
The ball valve in the toilet in our 21 16' Scamp Deluxe appears off-center and leaks. So the bowl does not hold water. There is apparently an adjustment, but I can't figure it out. Does anyone have experience with this?
I boondocked in my 2021 13-foot Scamp over the weekend, running the lights and roof fan from the battery, since the campsite had no electrical hookup. When I then plugged my Scamp into the 7-pin connector on my tow vehicle and drove home, I expected the battery to get recharged from the tow vehicle’s electrical system. However, upon arrival home I discovered that the 20-amp battery fuse (in the fuse panel) had blown. The Scamp user manual seems to suggest that I should instead have recharged my depleted Scamp battery using a trickle
I have been going to Discount Tire to have them check and put air in the tires before a trip but that is a bit of a hassle. Wondering if there is a recommended air compressor that I could get and do this at home. I was told the tires take 65. Thanks
