I'm replacing some of the subfloor due to wood rot. when I pulled out the carpet I noticed the wood subfloor was covered in what looks like reflectix and then the carpet was on top. once I replace the subfloor I'd like to add vinyl flooring. is it recommended to put that reflectix back between the flooring layers? seems like it would be difficult to lay flooring on a non firm surface. thanks for input!

replacing floor
Reflectix was not installed between carpet and sub floor. I'm assuming this was done by a previous owner that replaced carpet at some point. Vinyl or vinyl plank flooring goes right over the top of the sub floor.
