name of card game played at ScampCamp

Could someone help me to remember the name of a card game played at the Shipsawanna Scampcamp a few years ago that uses multiple decks of cards and it reminds me of solitaire.  Many people could be playing at the same time. Thanks!  Betty

Snap

Our family plays a game where an unlimited number of players can sit it. Each player has a full deck of cards and deals four face up in a row and 13 face down. You play your cards as solitaire on your four piles using both the cards in your hand (three at a time, like solitaire) and the pile of 13. All aces go in the middle for everyone to play on. The ace piles are built up from ace (1) to the king. Obviously, cards fly as players vie for first on the ace pile. The first one to empty their pile of 13 is the winner and everyone else counts negative points. We exchange decks after each hand to prevent one player from having a "hot" deck (excuse used by those of us who don't move the cards as fast due to webbed fingers or failing eyesight!)

The polite name is "Snap" but it has other expressive names, depending on who's losing.

Scoring on Snap

I forgot the scoring method. All players count their cards on the ace piles. Deduct their cards on the pile of 13x2. High score wins. Fun game, burns calories, no age restrictions, no minimum or maximum players.

Learned years ago to play a game called Sheeps Head up in Wisconsin. A sort of nothern game, very difficult too. I got rather good at it, but have not played it in many years.
