1981 Scamp

I bought an 1981 Scamp this last weekend. The prior owner purchased the trailer and then refurbished it. By the looks of it, they did a great job. They gutted it, had the the outside and inside painted gray by a auto paint company. They put in new wood doors inside. The put in a new ice box, and new water pump New upholstery. New thermostat and stove. A couple new reading lights. They did not replace the elephant skin, windows, vent, or heater. They said they had it for a few years with no issues, including leaks. I purchased it and took it home. It rained for a few days, and guess what? Leaking back side windows and back window. The water was dripping in from a split seam in the back window. Not sure where the water was coming in on the side windows. I've been running heat in the areas. My question is, how would I know if anything is happening under the elephant skin?

Any rubber or elastomer used

Any rubber or elastomer used as window seal must have shrunk or hardened over the years. Sealing with a non-silicone caulk may do the trick for you. Also, inspect the weep holes in the window frame. If clogged, slide the windows part way, pull out the rubber channel and clean out the aluminum frame and the holes (slits).

Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response. I'm taking it to a shop for a an inspection to make sure everything is in order. I do worry about what might be behind the elephant skin. Maybe nothing.
