DC problems

I have a 1988 Scamp, first year owner. When I put the battery back in after the winter it would not light the l.e.d.s or anything else. Battery is fully charged and load tested and is good. I am assuming that the white wire is the ground and the black wire is the hot but I did not keep track of which is which. Going from the Scamp manual. All appliances work with shore power and tail lights work when hooked up to the tow vehicle. Fuses to the intellipower 9200 are ok. What am I missing. Other than knowledge?

Thanks,Jim

Battery issue

If battery checks out, then it is most likely a fuse. There should be a 30a on the positive line at or near the battery that is often the culprit. There are usually two 30a fuses on the converter, one is AC and other is DC side.
If not the simple fix with the fuses, get the multimeter and starting at the battery keep tracing the line till 12v stops and you'll find it.

Also has occasionally been a bad ground issue.

12v fuses

My Lil Critter has the fuse at the battery box that Greg mentioned but also has another 12v fuse under the front bunk in the wad of wires that enter the front of the trailer via the cable from the battery.   The Lil Critter is a 2005 model but it was purchased new and picked up directly from Backus.  I see no reason for the two fuses in the same line but you never know what folks have in mind when building or modifying something....

Thanks for the reply. Fuses all good. Battery ok. Wires come in where I can not access. There may be another fuse underneath a false floor.

Disregard previous post. The wires were buried under the insulation and carpet. I found no fuse. Not sure if it is a ground issue or broken wire. With the multitester, are you supposed to penetrate the wire coating with the points of the meter?

Thanks

Tracing wires

My guess would be that a previous owner did away with the fuse at the battery terminal. Probably should splice an in-line 30a back in to that location.  https://amzn.to/3cdleDG

You can stick a pin in the wires at that point and touch ur multimeter leads to the pins if you want to check it to there. Or you can continue to trace those battery wires to where they connect and test there.

If it's live where you check it then keep going. If it's dead your problem is between that point and the battery.

Thanks for the response. There is a fuse right before the AC/DC processor. Can't find one before that. If I probe the wire before the fuse, where should the other pin be placed to get the voltage?
