I also need new weather

I also need new weather stripping.  The bottom of the door looks like it might be bent or warped a little too.  If so, does anyone know if they can be straighten or will I need a new door?

We have a '74 SCAMP 13'.  The

We have a '74 SCAMP 13'.  The original door straightened out to the point that the bottom got caught and damaged; we replaced it with a new door ordered from the SCAMP factory.  That was ca. 20 years ago.

Over time, the second door also began straightening.  When I restored the trailer in 2013-14, I wet the bottom with hot water (the interior of the door under the cover is 3/4" plywood), placed a jack under it overnight, and bent it back into shape. The combination of hot water and pressure worked!  The door now fits quite nicely against the curvature of the body.

Weather stripping

I'm waiting for a clear day to replace the foam with the weather stripping we ordered from Scamp parts.  It's been wet in northern Michigan.  Thanks to all who've provide suggestions about replacing the foam around the door.

Replacing wall and ceiling covering

I just purchased a 1984 13'. The ceiling and walls are very unattractive with messy caulk lines covering multiple seams.  May I peel off the original covering and replace it with something clean and more attractive?  Headliner is not my first choice.  I would prefer something smooth and perhaps paintable.

warped 13' 1984 scamp door...

Wondering if i can use the rubber seal or would need to replace the whole door. Door doesn't seal well to trailer body, and inside of door is getting wet...what should I do...order a new door, or other options...

Warped Scamp Door

Read Mccownw's post above re: Bending Scamp door.

This sounds like a good solution, if re-bending does not work then you can buy a new door from Scamp.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

Warp Door

Door alignment problems can be that the door is flattening out, but it can also be related to missing roof support. As the roof sags the door alignment gets really wacky. Check to make sure you have the kitchen area wrought iron support, the aluminum reinforcement tube on the front side of the door, and the floor to ceiling closet. You can definitely reshape the door similar to Mccown's suggestion, I've also heard some success with reshaping the aluminum support tube to help with door alignment.

I'm not sure Scamp Trailers will have a door for an 81. If you find out they do please post that here. After the fire in 05 the replacement 13 mold was made from a 16 and many parts changed due to a height increase in the trailer.

New Scamp door seal

Finally getting around to this task on the list.  Got the old seal and glue off.  Now, which way does the new seal go?  little flap in or little flap out?  Wish Scamp would learn to include direction for things, not everything is self explainatory :)

thanks in advance!
