Backsplash

This isn't a modification so much as a beautification, but I'm so thrilled with the result I had to share...  I did not like having rat fur behind my sink and stove. I posted in the Scamp Trailers Facebook page for ideas about attaching a backsplash. One of the responses caught my eye. They are PVC backsplash panels from Menards(Home Depot carries them too but quite a bit more expensive). 2 panels plus 2 trim strips for the out edges. A little triming and fitting and I was able to slip the panels behind the upper and lower cabinets without even removing them. Simple, quick backsplash!!

Excellent Job

Looks great, Deb. I've seen they have quite an assortment of styles and colors as well in those panels.

The Bamboo really pops with the white. It is starting to look like a little condo! smiley

That is the exact same

That is the exact same pattern of ceiling tile I purchased to do the same thing with - I am glad to see that not only does it work, but it looks amazing! :)

I only paid $15 (free shipping) for one 2'x4' tile (way bigger than I need), and I already have some extra cabinet trim I plan on covering the side edges with.

Hey Deb,

Hey Deb,

Looks great.  I look forward to meeting you and seeing your Mod in person at Pine Grove next month.  I'll show you mine with a window over the stove.  Lily and I will be about 6 spaces down from you in #39.  We're coming in on Tues.

Window and back splash

Joy I was wondering how to do that with the window over the stove,I had planned on doing ours after seeing Debs and then noticed there was no window,so do you undo the window to slip the material behind the frame to the window and then tighten it back down?

Back Splash with a window

Earlene,

I used linoleum/vinyl to do mine.  I made a template of the window and then overlayed it on the back of the linoleum and traced it's outline.   I used a knife to gently cut out the window opening.   My back splash is simply pressed over the window and under the overhead cabinet as well as the lower cabinet.  I did have to make a few notches so it would slide around the rivets.  The carpeting make it pooch out a little so I added trim on the sides and that took care of it.  That would be the little white trim that Scamp uses on the door openings.  My back splash has been in place for now going on 15 years and doing great.

Here's my picture

As you can see I didn't take it all the way across but only behind the stove.

30 minutes

It's just 2 panels. Only needed a little trimming, then I slid the upper and lower edges behind the cabinet aprons
