What are the general thoughts on the need for trailer sway control? I will be picking up my new 13 in April and I plan to travel mostly in the wide-open spaces west of the Missouri River. If recommended, what type is best?

Sway Control?
I bought one and have never installed it. I just haven't needed it.
The only time our 13' swayed was after we built a rack to fit on the back and overloaded it. Adding 100 lbs to the back end of of an 1100 lb trailer was not such a good idea! It never sways when properly loaded, and I never drive over 70 pulling it. I believe the little tires are only rated for about 65 mph.

Never used sway control on either of my 13’s and you really shouldn’t need it unless it is not loaded properly. They tow as if nothing is attached, and bigger issue is forgetting its back there.

I have pulled my 13 foot Delux ( heavier tha standard) with both a station wagon and SUV and found there was no need for a sway bar. I would recommend keeping your speed reasonable.

Thanks for the input on sway control. Sounds like that's one gadget I can do without!
Happy New Year!
