Bathroom door trim

The faux wood contact paper on my 2017 13 footer was peeling due to high temperatures, as you can see in this photo:

I decided to remove all of the paper and finish the wood underneath.  The wood grain underneath the paper is actually a nice wavy pattern.  I removed the bathroom door first to get it out of the way and to be able to finish the wood underneath.   I used a heat gun in low setting to remove the paper.  I then used Goo Gone and the heat gun along with a putty knife to remove the remaining contact cement.  I sanded the wood and stained it with MinWax Gunstock stain, that matches the color of the cabinet doors closely.   Finally, I finished it with clear satin Varathane and reinstalled the bathroom door.

The resulting wood looks like this.

I'm very pleased with the final look.   I think it looks better than the with the contact paper.

Very nice Icebloke.  I'm

Very nice Icebloke.  I'm surprised they use the vinyl covering when staining results in that.  It couldn't be much more work for them,, starting from scratch.
