Anyone besides me concerned that the water filler on the back of the Scamp has no locking mechanism and have you devised a way to lock it?

Water Filler Security
Here's a picture. I installed a locking water door. You pick one up at any RV supply store. Was an easy install, just cut the proper size hole and add a little plumber putty to fill the little gap due to the slight curvature of the Scamp, a little caulk some rivets and you are done. Well, sort of......with the 13 footer I had to chip out some wood that the inside cabinet is attached to, that's OK because it wasn't much and the Rat Fur covers it.
Ignore the blue tape that was a contemplation that is long gone now. I need to take a new picture, maybe pictures showing the door open.

You did a fine job on that Joy.I always wondered about having that water door just not being secured .this looks like it will do the job

I refer to that little (unsecured water fill door) as a Mini-urinal!! Obvious reason for this, just stand next to it and think!!! OMG, I hate this door. It is such an unsafe apparatus, anyone could pour anything in there or use it as a urinal!!!Yikes. People do ungodly things and this should be fixed. I plan to do something similar to what Joy did, but this needs addressing for safety and safe health. Just my opinion as ususal.

Yes, I was shocked when my Scamp was delivered to me to see the old water fill. Who in their right mind would want their fresh water storage so exposed. I guess the answer is the Factory, if I'm not mistaken some 15 years after producing my Scamp, they still install it.
It's one of the first mods I did to the trailer.

Hubby and I have always talked about it would have been nice if Scamp would just do some updates to their building of the Scamps,it would just make it nicer and easier for new owners,And they could just add the price of it all on to the price of the new ones,I am sure people would sooner pay a little more for the upgrades up front, then to have to take time to do them later on their own, just our opinion

Especially something like this that doesn't take that much time to install and doesn't cost but a few dollars. I installed a similar door for the electric cord, it again wouldn't take much for the factory to cut a little larger hole and install it as well. They also give the trailer an updated look. I don't like things that make something new look old.
