I have a 2015 Subaru Outback that has the factory transmission cooler but would like to add one that goes in the front of the radiator as seen on multiple sites. I've noticed on E-trailer they have several ones and my question is has anyone with the same year and model of car had one installed and if so which particular model? My mechanic tells me that it wouldn't be a problem but would all depend on how much space is available to mount the parts. Any help is appreciated. I have a 13' standard with bathroom 2015 that is new to me and trying to get it ready to take out. Thanks.

Transmission Cooler for Subaru Outback 2015
Do you have an regular automatic or a CVT?
I have a CVT
I would check with the dealer or the Outback forum on current transmission cooling options. I have a 2011 OB with CVT. As of 2013 the early 2010's was the only OB CVT that that had a transmission cooler after that the CVT was considered a sealed unit. I wanted to add a cooler to mine but really got nowhere still trying to keep the warranty in effect. My 4 cyl. did good towing the S-13 up and down the east coast. It towed good to Asheville NC. from the coast but I did not go over the Blue Ridge. I did tow a S-16 once but felt it was a bit much for the car. You owners manual outlines towing in high temperature conditions.

Looks to be different from the earlier models.

I have the same year OB and thought about doing the same thing. I asked the dealer service department about it. Keeping in mind dealers are not always reliable sources, but I was told the CVT needs to maintain a higher temp than traditional automatics and adding a transmission cooler would void the warrantee. Needless to say I never added it. I would check with your dealer and have them install it to cover your butt. I would be curious what your dealer says and let me know.
