Issue #1 Toilet Seal

So I am outside opening the black water dump valve while my wife is showering.  Copius amounts of 'Shower' water starts escaping between the shower pan and the toilet.  Phoned Scamp. They were a little vague about causes. Maybe a wax seal between the two. Any suggestions?

Also,

The bolt is not present on the outside wall side of the tank. Scamp was not sure it came with one..Side bath.

Before pulling your tank, check in the cabinet behind the shower faucet. I have seen loose connections on these pipes and also water getting behind the wall where the shower faucet is mounted to the wall. The water runs down the backside of the wall to the floor and exits through the blackwater drain pipe hole. You might want to run a bead of sealant along the top of the faucet to wall connection  Also check the calking around the shower pan to wall connections.

If you decide to pull the toilet just cut the PEX and you can add a water shut off valve next to the toilet. The shut off valve lets you eaisly drain the bowl before travel. If you remove the toilet the tailpipe out of the tank screws in. Some times you can unbolt the valve and unthread the tank tailpipe. If there is not enough room to unscrew it you will have to cut it off and replace and reglue your pipes after a new tail piece is threaded in.

One last thing to check. The plastic shower P traps are another source for leaks where they thread into the metal drain fitting. It may need to be resealed or replaced. They can also crack.
