Gas Hot Water Heater

Does anyone have any personal information on this product and what is the opinions of those more experienced with their Scamp to install this new hot water tank in place of the Original in the Scamp when purchased?  Just thinking ahead but I like the idea of not having to heat up a whole tank of water when needed, just saying. Seems like it can just be replumbed in place of the original tank when it goes bad and I am sure it will one day.  The price seems pretty good, may think of doing this for the house as there is only my wife and I and a big ole electric 30 gallon tank heating 24-7!

H/W replacement

I was excited to find that option, also. However, that unit is for outdoors use only. I've seen suggestions of hanging it outside and running the hose thru the bathroom or kitchen window. I live in buggy North Florida so I am not keen on opening/removing/compromising the screens! Maybe if the mounting area under the sink were vented with large vents like the fridge? Anyone out there done an in-line hot water heater mod??

hot water heater

Bernie,

I was thinking of when needed to remove the existing hot water tank, use the plumbing already there for the original tank and and replumbing it to work the new gas tank mentioned in this post.  The existing hot water tank is already vented outside with the out side entrance door of the scamp.  Everything is just a thought but worth considering if enough of us come up with scenerios and safety issues to consider.

Oh yea, you may be right about using it in the house, not impossible to put pipes through basement wall etc. to get to connect up to original how water tank.  Another thought of mine only. Mounting it outside would work for me.

Thanks for any feedback.
