For those of you who have had a 2" hitch receiver installed on your Scamp 13 for a bike rack, do you know the maximum load limit? I suspect that too much weight would impact the trailer's towing ability. I'm thinking of a MC rack to carry a 200 lb. motor scooter, The rack weighs about 50 lbs. so total weight would be about 250 lbs. For those of you who have had experience with this, do you think the trailer could handle this additional weight all on its rear end? TIA,

A couple of years ago, I passed by this camper sitting on the side of the Highway, as I passed the broken down camper, something caught the corner of my eye, something so unusual that I just had to turn around and take a closer look !!!!!!!
What I saw after I turned around, was an older camper, probably 18 foot, with it's tongue STICKING STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR !!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy had placed a rack on the back of his camper and had run his Motorbike up onto the back end of the camper. As a consequence, his tail end was heavier than his tongue and as a result, his camper had worked it's way off of the hitch ball and was only attached to the tow vehicle by chains !!!!
Additionally, I would refer you tho this posting regarding Trailer Sway:

Here is an example of what can happen when a trailer starts to sway...

Notice how quick that happened even with an empty trailer !!

As Always,
Happy Scamping !!!
Thanks for the videos. They're downright scary. As such, they've answered my question. Extra weight on the back end is bad news. Thanks again,

That would most likely be far too much weight added to the back of a 13. The frame system that is there wouldn't support that to begin with and you would have to do quite a bit of custom welding to even get the frame shored up enough to carry that weight. Most bike hitches on the back of trailers usually aren't rated for over 150lbs and the Scamp one probably less. This of course would be prior to trailer handling as mentioned above.
