Good day all I am wondering if there is anything to quiet our Fantastic Fan? it has hardly been used so it works well but is pretty loud. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Fantastic Fan is very noisy in 2014 Scamp
If you contact Fantastic Fan Support, I understand they have a capacitor kit that will slow down the speeds that the fan operates, thus making it much quieter. I have a MaxxFan on my new trailer and it has a much slower speed selection than the Fantastic Fan. We don't even know that it is operating, so getting slower operating speeds on the Fantastic Fan should help. Even though I've had many Fantastic Fans over the years, I haven't done this mod myself, but was told about calling in for this kit by SOI member Joe Z who installed one on his Casita. If I recall, they didn't charge him for it.
This is of course without hearing/inspecting your fan that you don't have something else going on.

I still haven't installed the free items (resistors they sent me) but it's very simple....the wire going out to the fan gets cut and the capacitor or resistor (whatever it's called goes inline there). they sent me two and said one will cut the speed in half in all positions and the second one will cut it in half again.
One should actually do the trick and it's a very simple job by removing the screen from inside

I have seen more involved mods using PWM to change it to a variable speed fan and planned on doing that someday. But this sounds like it might be good enough to get a slower speed, and much easier and free too I guess. Would love to see how it works out, and maybe pics.
PS.. sounds like its just a couple of resisters. I would also be interested to find out what value they chose (ohms) and what wattage rating.

10 watt 4 ohm is exactly what it is and those are the exact directions and pictures i got..... I'll do the job sooner or later :)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, as soon as we fine a little extra time we will give it a try.
So I called the fine Fantastic Fan people over at Atwood Products with the hope of getting the above reference resister kit to slow down and quiet my Sept 2015 vintage Fantastic Fan.
On 10 Aug 2016 at 3 pm EDT I was told that "I think they used to have such a kit but not anymore."
I explained that I had heard that someone got the kit fairly recently and asked the CSR if she was sure about that, and she said, "Yes, pretty sure."
So I told her I was going to go on the forums and tell everyone that it was no longer available, and she said, "that would be good, thank you."
So there you have it.
On a related note, I see they have a new roof vent / fan that can circulate air "rain or shine" with a built in cover. Sounds better at first glance than buying a separate cover. Perhaps new buyers can get Scamp to install this one instead. (The page does say, "Uses the Standard FAN-TASTIC VENT Garnish.")
It wasn't a kit they sent me.... it was merely a 10watt 4ohm resistor they sent me. read my link above for installation which is really simple

Well refering to it as a kit is really just semantics, although I think they sent a pair of resisters to at least some people, and more than one part makes it a kit. ;)
The point is that they don't offer this support any more.
I see that it is easy.. after all I posted the link the instructions (see above). But I was hoping to do this at no cost and since I now have to foot the bill also, I am probably going to use a PWM controller for continuously variable speed with no reduction in max speed. After all, if I have to buy the parts I might as well do it the best way.
FYI: I have no experience on this but maybe this might work...
