Trying to find one that fits in the fan housing - that one is too large.

I also would like to stay away from cheap components but thats harder to judge (although the Chinese characters are a clue).

I totally understand that…

Just guessing but maybe there’s a location the DC wiring is coming from that you could install this device (that doesn’t have to be on the fan itself) but yet easily accessible... Just a thought… But of course if it has to be on the fan, this idea is not for you... I understand...

As for being made in China (being a negative), it seems most things bought today is actually made in China (Good and Bad).

In my life experiences (I’m talking for me only) I’ve found that items made in Japan, USA, Mexico and of course China are basically the same. I’ve many, many times gotten junk with the labels USA, Japan, Mexico and China on them as well as received items of Good Quality from these countries.

Another thing I’ve found is that the saying “You get what you pay for” doesn’t seem to apply anymore.

(For me only) It’s all about research and a little luck…

Bottom-line is, you got to do what works for you and I totally understand that…

Does anyone know what route Scamp uses for the wiring to the Fantastic Fan in a 16 footer?  If I could find some place where it was accessible that would open up some options.

The wiring comes into the fan housing on the port side.

I'm only familiar with a

I'm only familiar with a Casita Spirit Deluxe and the wiring comes down over the kitchen sink and runs off the stove vent wire..... take your inside cover off the fan and see which side of the trailer it runs down

Joe, thats what I meant.. the wire goes into the fan housing on the port side. From the fan, it disappears behind the rat fur, perhaps going down toward the power distribution box near the port side floor.  The sink is on the starboard side however.  There is not a separate fuse for the fan (except the one built into it), and the Scamp 12 volt system has a 15 amp fuse for the starboard side, and one for the port side (lights, fan ,etc).  I see no wiring that is likely form the fan coming out from behind the rat fur under the dinette seat.  Wiring in the upper cabinet is straight to the lights only. So the wiring from the fan could be connected about anywhere, including behind the rat fur / insulation.
