Harvest Hosts

Here is a video by "Gone With The Wynns" that mentions Harvest Hosts. The Wynns are Full-timers and they seek Harvest Hosts sites in their travels.

     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBWO3OEjF2g

We plan on joining sometime in the future when it makes sense for us and our travel needs.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

Must be nice to be

Must be nice to be independently wealthy as these two young people are. To have a large bus and pull a small car all around this great country takes money and tons of time. It's clear they do not work, and money is no factor for them.

Truth be Told...

Truth be told, I wish I had the opportunities these two have taken advantage of when I was younger.

If you view Gone with the Wynns' earlier videos they explain how they sold their businesses and purchased their first RV. They do actually work from the road and receive some income via the internet (YouTube videos require many hours of editing to get right).

The proliferation of the internet has created many opportunities to live the RV Lifestyle Full Time while earning a decent living.

Additionally, by taking advantage of boondocking opportunities and living a more simple existance Living Full Time in an RV can be reasonably inexpensive and provide quite a nice Lifestyle.

Many of us are waiting for Retirement to do what these two have figured out how to accomplish 30 years younger.

Many Kudos to them for having figured it out so young.

BTW, their videos are some of the best productions available on YouTube.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

I know of one couple on a full-timing forum that has used them once and they were pleased.  I read through the rules which I highly suggest anyone do before joining and also the locations.  I wouldn't find the locations maybe as interesting as others might as I grew up in Michigan in the "fruit belt", we lived among farmers of every type and the uncles had dairy farms.  The couple that used it the once are interested in vineyards and wine but since a bunch of grape vines of which I saw plenty growing up and no interest in wine.......   So, I guess it would depend a lot on the individual.  We also have 2 larger senior dogs that might not mix with the scenery.  I see that you are supposed to also patronize and buy something as a courtesy which seems fair but I would just as soon pay for a place in a state park.

We try to avoid state and

We try to avoid state and federal parks as the offerings of full hook ups, showers, things like that are just not there. We prefer private parks having lots of nice offerings.

Boondockers Welcome

Want free camping?  Try www.BoondockersWelcome.com a neat website similar to Harvest Hosts, but not agriculture oriented.  Rather, it is property owners who will allow RV parking for free on their property.  It is sort of a co-op, where you make your property available for other RVers, but that is not mandatory.  Great for overnight stops while traveling...longer periods can be negotiated.  The membership is cheaper than Harvest Hosts, with many more locations available.  Have a look at their website.  I am going to join after we get our new Scamp in October.

RV Clubs

I decided to "google" for reviews.  Found a lot of people talking about them but no solid reviews.  I did come across a longer video, almost an hour, made by Technmadia that goes over the different RV clubs.  They have a lot of knowledge in all areas of RVing.  They started out full-timing in a t@b, then the smaller Oliver and moved up to the bus conversion.  I only listened to 1/2 the video since I need to get off the computer but will finish it later.  I am really interested in hearing the questions that will be asked at the end of the segment.  Here is a link:  http://www.technomadia.com/rvclubs/  While not all the information would apply to most people here, they do cover quite a bite.

We belong to Good Sam and Escapees but never get to use them because of my husband's job.  They oppose weekends and holidays off.  : (

Good video, but truly relates

Good video, but truly relates to full time RV'rs in large bus type RV's. We shall try the Scamp once my bride retires, in the Yellow Stone area for a month or so and see how it goes. We surely love our Scamp, but wintering in Florida May and will require more.

Scamping in Yellow Stone

Wow, 2 toddlers in a 13! You are brave! Yes, just us 2 will be fine and so much fun out there, a first for the 2 of us. Seems forever at 4-5 years away. Time does fly so it will be here before we know it.
