Can a Honda2000 generator power AC on a Scamp13 without any soft start or other modification?

Do we need to install any sort of soft start on our AC unit for our 2023 Scamp 13 in order to run off of a Honda2000 generator?  What are other people doing?

Honda 2000 and A/C

My Honda 2000 will run my 2005 Scamp A/C or my microwave but it will not run both at the same time.  Therefore I sweat for the 3-5 minutes it takes to cook my dinner.   ;>)

Yes...

The start up peak exceeds the generator capacity. You will need the soft start. Once running,  the generator can handle it's lower running demand.

Soft Start

Soft Start makes a world of difference when the AC compressor first kicks on.  The 2000 watt is that peak or running watts?  Those Honda's are nice, but I opted to go with a Champion 2400 Dual Fuel and she runs at 1800 watt.  Very quiet too.  They make Soft Start kits you may look into that.  Not sure how difficult they are to install.  Scamp charges over $500 to add Soft Start.
