Hi, this is my first post! Hope I'm doing it right.... my wife and I are the happy owners of a 2018 Deluxe 13' and we couldn't be more satisfied! We bought it barely used in Washington State, and it's been scross the country and back, and up to Fairbanks, AK and back! Most of it looks brand new, but..... the lower front sides - flanking the fuel tanks -- have begun to pit from road grit. Very small chips Have an orange skin sort of feeling... what can I do to maybe restore this? Keep it from happening? Anything?

Protecting, restoring bottom front of my 13'
We had an auto body shop spray that lower front section of our "Lil Critter" with the stuff they put into pickup cargo beds. Colored same shade as the Scamp. It is tough as nails and is holding up amazing well!

We had a similar problem after less than a year. Caught it early thankfully. Lots of miles, plus the Jeep has so little behind the rear tires to block tiny rocks.
I fixed the small chips with MagicEzy fiberglass repair and then covered that area on both sides with 3M paint protection film for a long term fix -- both available on Amazon and elsewhere.
The MagicExy actually is easy to use. The film wasn't easy, but there are plenty of youtube videos on how to do it. Looks great, can't tell there ever were any chips in the gel coat, and the clear film is barely noticeable.
I need some advice about repairing a crack in my used 2012 Scamp. There is a 4-inch crack in the back right corner that is through the fiberglass below the floor. There also is a 2-inch crack/scratch to the right that does not appear to be through the fiberglass but is above the floor. The appearance of the crack does not bother me but I worry that vibrations could make the crack worse. I have put about 12,000 miles on the Scamp and the crack does not appear to have changed yet. Should I put Bondo or something else (?) behind the crack to give it strength? Should I do something with the exterior or will I just make it more conspicuous or will I spend so much time making it look good that it is not worth the time? I suppose I could have a marine or body shop fix it but I wonder if it is worth the cost and hassle of finding a place and taking it in. What do you recommend?
I bought some Marine resin gel coat from Amazon to repair the gel coat that was scratched on my Scamp. Except for the fact that it is not a perfect color match, it polished well, and the repair is difficult to detect. For the crack, I would grind a bit, and lay up a piece of fiberglass cloth over the crack, then build it up with gel coat resin.

First glass in biaxial cloth or thin mat on the backside to support the cracked area after grinding/tapering in and cleaning the area. You will have to grind the patch to the original thickness of the shell about 3/4" from the shell edge for the edge trim. Then deal with the outside finish. For small issues in the finish in out of the way areas I use white Marine-tex epoxy. It's a fairly close match to Scamp white. For bigger patches I take it to a boat guy.
