Expecting The Call soon - making final decisions

I'm seeing other September order-ers getting their production calls (!) so we're working on finalizing our options. I have a few questions-

If you ordered extra electrical outlets, how many did you get and where were they placed?

What is the benefit of having a 12 volt plug... or two?

What are your opinions on the battery options?

Has anyone added an aftermarket brake light in/near the back window?

Will we regret not attaching the hose tube to the trailer? We're thinking of leaving it off.

ANYTHING else we should be thinking of? What are your best recommendations?

final decisions

Extra outlets help you to have one where you need it, much like home. Be sure to get the outside outlet.

The high brake lights cost too much but I got them anyway. The lower lights can easily be blocked by bicycles.  I plan to add a motorcycle flasher unit to them when I add LEDs, if the snow ever melts.

The larger battery is worth it if you are doing any boondocking.

The 12-volt outlet lets you run things like a Television, fan, charge phone, and other accessories. I buy every 12 VDC camping device that I see in the thrift stores.

I also added a separate 12 volt circuit for ham radio equipment.

Ideas
  • We should have removed the front sewer hose tube. Never used it as it is small and holds none of the gear we use for the task.
  • Our rear LED reading lights should have been on one side or the other. Having one on each side doesn't work as we setup as a full time bed. The one at our feet goes un-used at night and serves no purpose in our setup.
  • Our extra 110 volt outlet went into the front closet by the entry door. (Our 16 has the front bath/closet) This works great at night if we are using a small electric heater where it can sit out-of-the-way. That outlet had been going under the rear bench seating but setup as a fulltime bed it would have been hard to reach or use for anything.
  • Extra 12 volt outlet went under our side dinette seating bench. Always easy to get at and use.
  • Vinyl flooring is a must and we upgraded away from carpet. Never looked back on that decision!
  • Yes and yes the optional set of tail lights for us were a safety option.

We had a good discussion with Scamp when it came our turn a year ago during that phone call in pre-build. Very happy and have most options that they offer. We camped all last summer with few regrets.

Am I correct in understanding

Am I correct in understanding that the 12 volt outlets are the only outlets with power when running solely off battery?

I should have mentioned we are getting a standard 16, layout 6.

12 volt outlets

Yes, no AC unless you plug in or add an aftermarket inverter. Many buy 12 VDC equipment when ever possible.

Yay! They called!

Yay! They called! laugh

They gave mid-July as a pickup date, but I'm hoping they're underpromising.
