I removed my spare from the rear position because I put a tool box for storage of our 12' x 12. canopy but then the spare would be in pickup bed which i did not like , We have removed all the propane, and use electricity for heat and cooling. the battery I moved under front bunk, using small lawn mower battery, put a maintain charger on it. works great 3 years running and no problem. I had put a tongue tool box on the front large enough to hold Honda 2000i generator and gas and some tools, but have only took generator camping once. as all locations have electricity, so I wanted the spare on the trailer. I raised the tool box and built rack high enough to slide spare under it, wing nut and hook bolt hold it in place from underneath.
This is a great solution keeping an eye on tongue weight. My only concern is moving batteries inside the living quarters, they need to be AGM's or Lithiums. If they're flooded batteries they have to be place in a sealed container vented to the outside.
As an aside, I see that is a 77 Scamp and your shell looks awesome. Is that Poliglow by any chance?

Looks like a great idea ; but I'm curious : what holds the front toolbox to the frame ?
Also ,the rear box for the canopy sounds interesting. Can you post a photo of that , also ?
Thanks

Originally welded a plate to a frame of hitch, then built the tube frame and welded another plate that the toolbox bolts to.

this is my rear tool box 60" w x 10" d x 16" high. I had local machine shop bend a 10 ga. plate in L shape bolted to bumper and bolted box to that. added the lights to top of toolbox. I did not remove the orignal taillights just ran a cord from old to the new. Picture show the set up before I put on the new awning:
