Getting ready to order a twist lock power outlet for my 98 16ft scamp ....... I have looked at both the plastic and stainless steel outlets ... Originally thought about going with the stainless but now unsure would like to get some suggestions ........
Thanks

Hi Steve,
I've always used the white plastic one, but the stainless would look very good and have seen several folks use the stainless. I usually have to add a backing plate since the mouse hole cut doesn't leave enough glass to the rivets for me to feel comfortable, so the SS would probably provide a stronger setup when using a backing plate. There is one particular Park Power that I get because it is about 1/2" larger than the other one and covers better.

The round stainless one is the largest and can just slightly cover an existing cord hole. If drilling a new hole the white square ones are fine and cheaper. The Furrion jack has a little blue light to let you know you have power applied to the trailer.

Furrion F30INS-PS Square Non-Metallic 30 Amp Inlet with Stainless Plate
or
Furrion FCKIT30-PS
Is that a question?
F30INS-PS is the white inlet only, and contrary to those who think its cursing, FCKIT30-PS is the inlet along with the rest of the conversion kit (that uses your existing cord and converts it to plug into the inlet)
The Stainless Steel inlet only is F30INS-SS. I don't think they sell a kit with the SS inlet but you could add a plug on your cord to use the SS one I guess.
Hi Guys !
Thanks for your input and advice about the mouse hole cover , I think that we are probably going to go with the furrion Eddie has suggested as long as it will fit the existing hole we like the idea of the led power light indicator .....
Thanks again for your help and advice

Here is what I did to mine to get rid of that horrible (Mouse, snake, bug hole) in the side of the trailer. Just think of a small but dangerous snake in your converter storage area under your dinning room seat!! Either way you go is got to be better than the mouse hole sold on trailer. I have no idea why they ideas for safety cannot be incorporated into the manufacturing of these great little eggs?? Reading these suggestions means (knowledge is power) for those concerned and overcorrect things that should be done at the factory without question.

Hi. Would someone post what the brand name/model of the angle plug that is in the picture? I searched for Furrion connector at Amazon, and didn't see anything like that. Thanks!

Im getting ready to do this mod myself in a few weeks and I am very frustrated as there seems to be no info from the manufactures about the rough cut out size needed. I really don't want to make the hole in the fiberglass larger and would also prefer to not use a front plate for fill.
I am looking at Furrion F30INS-PS but it only says "universal fit." Did yours install easy?
Gordon,
You do not need to enlarge the hole any larger for my type of set up. The backing plate, (aluminum) is there to strengthen the side wall of the scamp when the heavier cord is hanging downward as in my photo. The fiberglass alone is will deteriorate with pressure if you do not use a plate as I did. Good luck in your decision. Anything has to be better than the original (Critter Welcome Hole).

Thanks Gary.. I will get on it soon and be sure to reinforce as needed, maybe even glass-in some wood support.
And you are so right that this should at least be an available upgrade, if not standard. On my trip home with the brand new Scamp I only hooked up to shore power twice, and both times I had to go in to the storage area and untangle the cord. The door will not stay shut either. And its only a matter of time until something undesirable come in that space.
I knew when I bought the trailer that this mod would be done first, and in conjunction with a hard-wired surge protector, but it's even more of a priority than I originally thought.
