Purchasing new water pump?

Just purchased new 15 fresh water tank and fittings, now need to find waterpump.  Looks like a few options seems like most common is superflo 4008, with strainer? Greg A showed pic of his set up mounting pump next to tank.  I have an ~11' run for easier access to pump, Can I set up pump a few feet from tank and then split difference with hoses  say 5' then 6' from pump to faucet?  How far can pump push water?   Like Greg A switching to baided hose, will do that as well.  Will need to drill hole in redone floor for drain plug?

Plan is to drive with fresh water in 5 gallon tanks in back of truck when city water hook up not available.  Fill up tank at site.  Waster water into wheeled 15 gal portable tank found on craigslist for $10.  Will look to strap and bungee empty tank to back underside of scamp and then pull out when needed.

Water Pump

I use this pump but you can buy a quieter pump for more money. http://fiberglasstraveltrailersrv.com/FloJet-03526144-RV-Marine-12-Volt-Water-Pump-29-GPM-P-F3002.htm   I did a pump install like Greg did. The seat cover was off and it made great use of a dead space. The issue with that install is if you winterize and use an antifreeze pick up you can't eaisly get to the pump to winterize. If you winterize the Scamp WP placement in front of the tank is a better place to locate the pump.

Note: On the rear mount WP you could place a round access plate on the front of the seat to get to the WP for winterization.

water pump

Saw the flojet on ebay.  What does it mean self priming to 9 ft?  Is this how far it will push water to faucet from tank.  Also does this need a strainer?  Thanks

Water Pump

My last 13 Scamp and the 19 Scamp I'm working on now I put SHURflo 4008-101-E65 3.0 Revolution Water Pump which is one of Shurflo's new releases. Pump won't be damaged if it runs dry and that does happen occasionally. Runs much quieter than previous pumps.

Can't beat the price right now that they have on it.

Thanks Greg,  I am guessing I need to buy the one on ebay with the strainer.  Toughts on how far the pump can push the water/hose lengths?

Strainer

Strainers for the Shurflo's are sold separate. About $9.

Never had any issues with any of the RV replacement pumps pressurizing or reaching showers, fixtures, etc where they are located on these trailers.

We use the same pump Greg

We use the same pump Greg referenced. Happy with it, located on the floor under the curbside dinnette, and powers both the kitchen sink and front shower just fine. Got it on Amazon.com.

We also purchased an accumulator, which keeps the pump from cycling on and off a lot when you are just trying to get a small stream of water. Put that just after the pump outlet.
