Hello from the great midwest. Doug and Dawn Allen here, proud new owners of our beloved 16 ft. scamp. Last week we headed out to Columbia South Carolina. Armed with ample bottles of 5 Hour Energy, my iPod and Bose speakers, we headed out. My bride slept in the back of the Ford Escape, as she had just completed a full work day. We departed at 8:20 p.m. for our fun journey. It was dark and soon she was fast asleep. My great music and 5 Hour Energy propelled me down the highways, each mile closer to Columbia South Carolina. As the sun began to rise around Knoxville, Dawn awoke and began to help with navigation with the Trip Tik from Triple A. As we approached Knoxville, a huge pile up of cars stopping for a accident. The next exit provided a Cracker Barrel so it was off the highway and headed for a well deserved breakfast. Once we were finished, the waitress gave us a great alternate to get on to highway 26. We were ready! Upon getting back on highway 40, we were just about 4 cars behind what was left of the wreck, so our original course to get on highway 26 worked just fine. Great sunshine abound for our final leg into Columbia. We arrived in the very early afternoon, and no more than 10 minutes later the seller arrived as well from Pawleys Island South Carolina. We exchanged smiles and hand shakes and headed into the bank. Bank of America treated us like family, and the whole process went super fast. The agent notarized the bill of sale,we signed the title, he got the check, and we were off to head to the smoky mountains! We arrived some what late due to trying to get some minor work accomplished at a RV place in Columbia, but turned out we did not need it. We arrived at late afternoon to our campground, extremely lightly occupied by campers. Backed the pretty scamp into its spot, cleaned up,and passed out in the comfy bed, as I was up 26 hours! Our bed even came with a memory foam topper as well! The fast running stream not far from our spot made for some great white noise to help us sleep. We arose at 2:00 am for a potty visit, and it was so very cold! 58 degrees outside, and I am so deligthed my bride brought one of her hand made quilts. We covered up and fast back to sleep. We arose at 7:30 a.m,. a 10 hour sleep! We headed north through the smoky mountains with some fun scenic stops and pictures. Once ready to really head home, we turned north to highway 40, the Knoxville, Nashville for highway 24, to southern Illinois to highway 57 and at Mt Vernon IL to highway 64 west into St. Louis. We got to st.Charles MO around 9:20 p.m. and backed the little scamp into the driveway. Now days of cleaning, polishing, stocking our scamp, it is gorgeous! It is perfect for the two of us and we adore it. After washing the exterior is shines like new! All systems work fine, and we are now being taken care of by St. Louis RV. They were very helpful and we are now ready for some fall camping! Its hard to say camping with such luxuries as AC, Heat, soft bed, kitchen, dinette! We are now proud scamp owners and so proud to be part of the scamp family.
Changed the setting!
Love to meet you. We can message contact info.
Will show you the Vixen also, if interested.
