Oh boy, a Scamp rally in da UP would be right up my alley!  Late October is winter up there though.  We have camped in cold weather but we don't use water in our Scamp.  Our little ceramic heater kept us warm at night.  Best time to camp in da UP is August through early October.  No black flies then!
