We have a cottage on L. Ontario. We took our boat out for a long cruise yesterday afternoon. While following the shoreline past Golden Hill State Park, we spotted two Scamps in the campground!
After returning to our cottage nearby, we towed our Scamp to the SP to meet the other two Scamps.
The first was a 2012 13’. The owner was very pleased to meet us—and our Scamp. She showed us all the “mods” she had made (we were impressed!), and thoroughly checked out our restored 1974 13’ for additional ideas. We parted as friends!
The second Scamp was a brand new 2014 16’ deluxe, loaded with every possible option. The owners were en route from the factory in Backus, MN to Richmond, VA. They had been on the road 10 days. As “newbies” to both Scamping and towing, they were grappling with a number of minor issues. We were able to offer them some helpful ideas and experiential encouragement.
We participated in a "Bolerama" near Port Colbourne, Ontario July 11-13. 93 rigs (and 200+ people) gathered at the Long Beach Conservation Area on Lake Erie. The majority of the "eggs" were Bolers; there also were lots of Trillums. Touring the campground, we saw three 17' Casitas, a couple of Burros, a Big Foot or two, one Love Bug and one U-Haul. We were the only Scamp.
My first two days of bonding with my Scamp were in Siloam State Park in IL. Hot and humid! Rainstorm the second night and I was so happy to be in the Scamp!!
Third night was at Perry Lake State Park in KS. Much cooler. Could see the sun set, full moon, and sun rise through the thin original curtains that I love for right now!! This trip was a driving trip--it took me six days of driving to get it from IL to its new home in CO! My best story is that I had NO problems at any point in the trip--now that's a good story for a beginner!!
Just left Backus with our new 13 footer. Roof air, furnace, bigger bed. After 10+ years of an Aliner this sets up so easily. We love it. Word to potential buyers.. They are back ordering so be aware.

Friday Morning the 11th passed a Casita heading S on 260 just north of Camp Verde, AZ.
Then on 260 N of Payson AZ passed what looked to be a brand new Scamp 16 that was heading into Payson, AZ.
The Eggs are out and about!!!

No one saw me driving my new to me 2004 13' across the midwest this week? I honked at another one at a rest stop in CO and got a big wave.
