Scamp in PA.

I was on a motorcycle trip to Southern VA. with a buddy and passing through the town of Middleburg PA and we rode past a 13 footer parked in a driveway. A 2,000 mile ride and that was the only one I saw.

We Finally Saw One!

First things first as we finally saw another Scamp going South on I-77 just North of Wytheville, VA just before 5PM yesterday (Father's Day), June 18.  We were in traffic going North, so it was just a quick look but I think it was 13' and I know it was a Deluxe due to the gold stripes.

Now for the "finally" part.  We researched both Scamp and Casita before ordering our Scamp 16 Std in April 2016 and we picked it up in November 2016.  Due to family issues we still haven't camped anyplace other than our driveway, but that's not the story.  We had never seen any other Scamp or any other FGRV before ordering (and we are very happy with our choice so far).  We couldn't get to a scheduled meet so we just ordered on blind faith!  And then we started visiting as many campgrounds as possible.  In 2016 we observed nearly 1000 camp sites in the WV area with elect and water and we saw absolutely no fiberglass trailers; one R-Pod was as close as we got.  We were traveling back from staying in a beach house with family when we saw the Scamp.  While at the Southern Outer Banks of NC, we visited probably another couple hundred camp sites and still no fiberglass.  This was the first ever fiberglass trailer we saw and what a joy that it was a Scamp.  Amazingly, about another 15 miles up the road we saw another non-Scamp going South.  I not that familiar with the different brands yet, but it was more "squared" than either Scamp or Casita.

Anyway, thank you! to the folks going South on I-77; you've made our year!

Egg Sightings

We just returned from a weeks trip on our shake down after remodeling our trailer.  On our round trip from Iowa to Colorado, we just saw three eggs.

One was captive in the back yard of a house in Canon City Colorado and the other two ( 1 escape and 1 Casita) were spotted on the highways.  Hope to go East later this month and see some more eggs in the wild.

We pulled in on the fourth to a gaggle of fiberglass trailers: several casitas, an escape and a 19 Deluxe. We were just getting our coffee the next morning as they pulled out on the 5th, which makes sense. Sorry we missed an opportunity to connect, I should have realized that most people would be heading home then.

It was encouraging as this was our first big outing in our 19 Std. It was good to see others out there taking advantage of the small shady sites as the big trailers even had trouble pulling into their treeless spots.

Since I  generally use no

Since I  generally use no hookup campgrounds, even my lil 13' goes into a sunny site so I can use my solar panels laugh Also, sunny sites can give you a break from mosquitoes. But yeah, it's great to be able to fit in smaller sites like many National Forest campgrounds.
