Impression

The A/C has little effect on tongue weight since it is over the axle. I had a floor plan 6 with dual LP tanks and big frig.wih A/C. (TW about 260 lbs.) Switched to single tank removed  the dual tank rack and changed regulator. (TW was about 230 lbs.) By adding water to the fresh water tank tank. (TW about was about 210). You could get it down further by packing most of your stuff under the rear dinette table. A S-16 with a TW of less than 200 lbs. I would recommend using a sway bar.

Your Scamp search

By all means, get the 16. We sat around with dear friends 3 years and told them about our search for a brand new 13. We then discussed sitting in a camp ground with rain over us for a day or two. The extra room is enormous and welcomed in the 16. Also, we would never consider a trailer without a shower/potty as well. Us too, no kids, never had them. We love our 16 and it is super deluxe with all we have done to it to make it ours! Get the 16, you won't be sorry. We tow with a 6 cyl Ford Escape and get 20 mpg while towing too! We love it,
