Point of use water heater and water pump

Hello everyone, we are almost settled on a scamp plan and now choosing the options.  I want to thank everyone for answering my questions. Has anyone added an aftermarket electric point of use water heater like the ones that are typically under a residential kitchen sink to use on the scamp? We are going all electric with no propane because we don't plan to do any cooking inside the trailer and I don't want to mess with propane.  I really don't want to spend the $550 on the scamp gas/electric heater if I can pick up a point of use electric one from the hardware store.  Has installed point of use heater on their scamp?

Also, do you need the water pump if you plan to exclusively hook up to water lines?

Thanks!

Calling yourself Bigfamily,

Calling yourself Bigfamily, already says you should go for the Scamp16. If you are always going to be connected to city water, you don't need any pump, or fresh water tank, but invest a few bucks in an in-line pressure regulator. I don't know anything about the point of use heaters.

Yes, "city water" is the

Hi Kristin, Yes, "city water" is the campground spigot. The RV folk have a vernacular that I am myself still learning, having pulled a camper for four years only.

If you are planning on a bigger family, you may have to upgrade/upsize your camper at some time, and you should think about the resale value of some of the add-on's and options. The fiberglass RV's hold their value very well, but some things, like plumbing and gas lines are hard to add after the interior is built. Just a thought.
